"I think that education, by its very nature, is a place of hope and opportunity. It speaks to what all of us need to be attending to: questions of access, questions of inclusion, questions of affordability. The fundamental part of education is the opportunity for transformation. Transformation in new ways of thinking, new ways of being, discovering who you are, who you were meant to be."
As educators, we want to be sharing the information and teaching the skills that lead to growth and learning. But what questions should we be asking of students, colleagues and ourselves, that will force us to asses how we’re doing?
Dr. Lake Lambert, President of Hanover College joins this episode of Rebuilding the American Dream with some suggestions on how to keep innovating in higher education through asking those tough questions – and listening to those hard answers. Dr. Lambert earned his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Theological Studies degrees from Emory University and earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree from Princeton Theological Seminary.
